Fame Hen Party Dance Class SwanseaRehearsal-room energy, right here on the seafront.
Every so often a bride writes to say her group actually wants to work. This is the theme we send back. It borrows the rehearsal-room feel of the film and the stage show — leg warmers, mirrors, a count-off shouted over the intro — and turns it into jazz-funk that asks a bit more of a room than most themes do. Your teacher builds the number live around the people in front of them, in the room we hire on Oystermouth Road or wherever the party has set up between Gower and Ammanford. Ninety minutes runs the whole group £185 and the hour £160, with only the venue’s hire cost added. No experience required — it just happens to be the hen do dance class where people leave genuinely warm.
Book the slot, then panic later.
We need the date, a rough number and the sort of start time you want. Back comes availability, which room suits the group, and the class fee and venue hire cost written down separately so there are no surprises. Still deciding between themes? Take the date now and settle the argument nearer the time.
brides who danced as children book this one about eleven months ahead, in our experience
The one you’ll actually sweat in.
Most hen themes are chosen for the photographs. This one gets chosen when the bride did dance until she was fifteen and has spent two decades saying she misses it, or when the group contains three people who go to a class every week and would quite like to be stretched. The vocabulary is jazz-funk — long lines, sharp changes of direction, a chin-up finish — and it is drilled the way a rehearsal is drilled, with corrections. Chwarae teg to the aunties who come along for the ride: the teacher always keeps a lighter track running through the room, so nobody is left standing at the back while the fit ones enjoy themselves. As hen party activities go it is the one that most often converts somebody back into a dancer.
Properly physical. The most demanding theme we run, though every section still has an easier version.
Corrections included. You will be told where your arm should be, which is the point of choosing this one.
Kit is yours. Leg warmers and off-the-shoulder sweatshirts are a group purchase; nothing comes from us.
Earlier is kinder. Groups tend to book late morning or just after lunch, then spend the afternoon recovering somewhere near the Marina before the evening starts properly. Brides who studied at one of the universities here often want the class close to town so the day retraces old ground, which is not something most hen party ideas can offer. If the party has taken a house further out we come to you, though for this theme in particular it is worth checking there is a stretch of floor long enough to travel across.
Give the legs a few hours before the heels come out — future you will be grateful.

Names, a quick read of the room, and the first proper stretch of the weekend.
Warm-up that means it
Across-the-floor work, because this theme earns the right to do it properly.
Choreography, written live
Your own routine, made in the room to fit the ability actually standing there rather than an average one.
Run it for the camera
Full out, chin up, and a final pose held long enough for the photos to catch it.
what gets taught depends entirely on who walks in, which is why nothing here repeats
The right length for this theme — a real warm-up, real drilling and a finish worth filming.
Condensed but still sweaty, when the rest of the day is already spoken for.
Garden studios near Neath, a village hall out past Ammanford, plenty of front rooms. Class fee only.
one number for the whole party, however many of you turn out to be secretly good ✦
Mirrors, and a floor with give.
For this theme the hired room on Oystermouth Road is worth the hire cost: sprung floor, full-length mirrors and a long enough run to travel across without stopping. It is a short walk from the seafront and an easy taxi to Wind Street afterwards. The hire figure is quoted in writing with your date.
Filed after the final pose.
Three of us used to dance and were properly worked. The other five were also fine, which I still cannot explain.
I asked for something harder than the usual hen thing and got exactly that. Ached for two days, no regrets.
Fame, put to the test.
the five questions this theme attracts more than any other ↓
Is this class harder than the other hen themes?+
Yes, deliberately. It has a longer warm-up, travelling steps and actual corrections, which is why groups pick it. Everything still scales — each section has a simpler version — but if the party wants an easy laugh rather than a workout there are gentler themes on the list.
Do we need leg warmers or dance kit for it?+
No, and we don't supply any. Whatever the group fancies buying is entirely its own affair; the routine is written for people in leggings and trainers, and trainers are honestly the more sensible choice for the travelling sections.
What does a Fame hen class in Swansea cost in total?+
Ninety minutes is £185 and an hour is £160, and either way that single figure covers everybody dancing — the venue's hire charge is the only separate line. The Oystermouth Road cost goes to you in writing up front, and at a hen house of your own it comes to nothing.
Can less fit hens still take part in a dance hen party like this?+
They can, and the teacher plans for it from the first ten minutes. There is a lower-impact track running alongside the main one, breathers are built into the drilling, and nobody is ever left visibly sitting out. Flag it on the form and it is handled before you arrive.
Is there singing as well as dancing in this one?+
Only if the group wants it. The show is famous for both, but what we teach is the dancing — the singing tends to break out on its own during the last run-through, which is a different thing entirely and impossible to stop.
