Hen party group rehearsing their routine together
The group chat’s perennial winner

Grease Hen Party Dance Class SwanseaGo grease lightnin’ — Mumbles direction.

Half a century on, Rydell still sweeps the vote, because every generation on the minibus knows every word already. Your teacher turns that head start into a routine composed on the day for your exact crew — quiffed, ponytailed or firmly in gym kit — in the room we hire on Oystermouth Road or out at your hen house anywhere in South West Wales. The ninety runs the whole gang £185 and the hour £160, with the venue’s hire cost the only extra. No experience required; loud singing inevitable.

Why Grease keeps winning

Zero briefing required.

Some hen party dance class themes need the aunties handed a playlist first. Grease needs nothing: mams grew up on it, bridesmaids did it at school, and someone in your party owns the DVD unironically. All that shared memory means your teacher spends the session building a dance hen party number, not explaining one — which is why, of all the hen party ideas on the shortlist, this is the one that suits parties whose ages span fifty years.

i.

Truly all-ages. The rare hen do dance class where nan and the nineteen-year-old know the same words.

ii.

Costume-optional. Pink satin or plain leggings — outfits are the group’s department, never stock we carry.

iii.

Finale included by nature. Few soundtracks hand a routine its ending as neatly as this one does.

Swansea running order, perfected

The classic shape: class late afternoon on Oystermouth Road, back to the hen house for the costume change, seafront photos while the light’s good, then Wind Street does what Wind Street does. Groups staying out on Gower flip it — we come to the cottage in the morning and the routine gets its debut at the barbecue. Either way the video is filmed before the first prosecco cork moves, which everyone is grateful for by Sunday.

Build the day around the class, not the class around the day — it’s the bit everyone remembers.

the six things organisers ask ↓

Is Grease costume compulsory for the class?+

Not remotely — outfits belong to the group and we never supply them, so come as full T-Birds, half-hearted Pink Ladies or straight from brunch in trainers. The routine lands the same either way.

Which songs from Grease does the session use?+

Whichever fit the room on the day. Your teacher carries the whole soundtrack and decides live — that's the point of a routine composed per group rather than photocopied. Shout requests when you're there; we just don't promise setlists in advance.

What's the full price of a Grease hen class in Swansea?+

£185 for the ninety-minute session or £160 for the hour, whole party in, plus the Oystermouth Road venue's hire cost, quoted in writing first. At your own hen house the venue cost is nothing, and per-head maths never appears.

Will ninety minutes of Grease exhaust the less fit hens?+

No — it's ninety minutes of laughing with dancing attached, drilled in short bursts with breathers built in. The teacher pitches everything at the least gym-fit person in the room, on purpose.

Can we do the class before a Wind Street night out?+

That's the classic Swansea running order: class late afternoon on Oystermouth Road, quick change, seafront photos in costume, then the strip. The room sits minutes from all of it.

What happens if we switch from Grease to another theme?+

Nothing dramatic — tell us up to about a week out and the booking simply changes costume. The date is what's reserved; the theme stays a pencil note until you're sure.

If Rydell gets outvoted overruled.
