Hen party group learning a routine with their teacher
Country-pop swagger, zero card tables

Texas Hold’em Hen Party Dance Class SwanseaThe song. Not the cards. Definitely not the cards.

First, the disclaimer everybody needs: this is a dance class built on the country-pop single, and there is not a deck of cards anywhere in it. What there is: a hat-brim tilt, a hip switch on the off-beat, and a strutting walk that takes about four goes to stop feeling silly and one more to feel excellent. The routine is composed live for whoever is in the room, either in the space we hire on Oystermouth Road or at your hen house across South West Wales. £185 for ninety minutes, £160 for the hour, both covering the whole party, plus the venue’s hire cost. No experience needed.

Check the date

The date, then everything else.

We need three things: the day, a rough number of hens, and the sort of start time you had in mind. A written reply follows inside the day: date free or not, which room, what the session costs, and what the room adds on top. Not certain this is the theme yet? Hold the date anyway — swapping later costs nothing and takes one email.

Why the country one works so well

Sass without the splits gymnastics.

The reason this became one of the most-requested hen party ideas practically overnight is simple: it is all attitude and almost no athleticism. The groove sits in the shoulders and the hips, the travelling is minimal, and the biggest technical demand is looking like you meant it. That makes it a dance hen party that works across a wide fitness range — the pregnant bridesmaid, the aunt with a knee, and the one who does three classes a week all get the same routine at their own volume.

A.

Hats optional, and yours. Half of every group turns up in one. We do not sell, lend or hand out a single item of it — the look is entirely the party’s own doing.

B.

Low impact, high swagger. A hen do dance class with barely any jumping in it, which the morning-after bookings very much appreciate.

C.

Reads brilliantly on camera. Slow, deliberate shapes photograph far better than fast ones, which is why this theme fills a camera roll.

Where it fits in the weekend

This is a strong early-evening booking. The session leaves a group buzzing rather than flattened, so the natural order is class, change, then out — and from Oystermouth Road that is a short walk into town. Parties doing the Gower cottage weekend usually have us drive out instead, which works particularly well on a Sunday when nobody wants to move a car. If the plan includes Swansea Market on the Saturday morning, take a mid-afternoon slot and eat first.

Diolch to whoever suggested the afternoon slot; it is reliably the one that works.

Room to strut.

Not a great deal of it, as it happens — this theme needs less floor than most, which makes it one of the easiest to run in a rental. The room we hire on Oystermouth Road is still the comfortable option: a proper surface, no furniture to shove aside, and the hire cost confirmed in writing with the date.

Verdicts from the back row.

I assumed it would be a casino-night thing and it absolutely is not — it is a proper dance routine and far more fun.

six questions, mostly the same first one ↓

Is this about poker or about dancing?+

Dancing, entirely. The name comes from the song and the session is a dance class built on it — no cards, no chips, no dealer. If your group wants a casino evening as well, that is somebody else’s booking and we would never pretend otherwise.

Is there a dress code for this one?+

No, and neither comes from us. Groups who arrive kitted out look tremendous and groups in jeans and trainers dance exactly as well. Every part of the outfit is the party’s own to sort out.

Will this suit a group who do not dance?+

It is one of the better themes for exactly that. The steps are slow and the emphasis falls on attitude rather than accuracy, so somebody with no experience at all can look completely convincing inside an hour.

What is the total price for our group?+

£185 covers ninety minutes for everybody and £160 covers an hour, with the venue’s hire cost quoted alongside — separately and in writing — when we use the hired room. Hold it at your own place and there is nothing to pay for a room. Per-head pricing has never featured here and never will.

Can we do this the morning after?+

It is arguably the best theme on the list for a Sunday morning. Low impact, no jumping, and the teacher starts gently. Bring water; the routine still gets finished.

Can men join in, or is it hens only?+

Plenty of parties include brothers, dads and the groom’s side, and the routine barely changes for it. Tell us the mix in the message box so the teacher can plan the pairings and the feature moment sensibly.

Six more the group would argue for.
